“Life is a movie. Death is a photograph,”
An archive of portraits and thoughts around life, death and everything in between.
This project is designed to explore the romanticism of creating a “death” and an icon of reality through portraiture. The subject will be asked to consider their own mortality and what they want to leave behind post death.
The project looks to examine the commemorative and nostalgic quality of photography - to convert the world into a cemetery by building an archive of portraits; asking the subject to consider their existence in relation to their portrait and to their death.
